Jools Holland on Langar Hall



What's the best hotel you've stayed in?
I have a number of favourite hotels. I like the Langar Hall in Nottingham, which is a charming country house hotel in the Vale of Belvoir. The staff are friendly and the service is personal.

September
Sunday 2nd 6pm. The Colchester Wine Company launch for Henry Blofeld’s Champagne. Carine Wheeler will introduce the wine, Henry will amuse us with his version and we will all enjoy the champagne, the Blowers Cote du Rhone and white Burgundy over a buffet supper afterwards. A good opportunity to stock up with his wine at a good price before you go home. £65 inclusive.

Thursday 20th Ladies lunch. £19.75 Reception with Glass of wine, three course menu with a choice of dishes. The best time to come along with some friends.

This was such a special evening in 2011 that we booked Patricia Knight Webb again for those who missed her unforgettable one woman show. A candle lit performance in Langar Church followed by a Victorian Dinner in the house. Tickets £60

Langar School Outing 8th May

The school children came to see and learn about the kitchen garden with their teachers and Louise who showed them all the vegetables. I hope some may be inspired to start growing their own. They were all very well behaved!
New Pagoda for shade and secret meetings.

This arrived the day the rain came. Today we opened it up and look forward to summer days when it will be a lovely place for a drink or lunch on the sunny lawn in front of the garden room. Or for smokers on a cold wet day.
Made by Crown Pavilions in England. I already want another for a little shop.
