Nick bakes the bread every morning when he cooks breakfast

Nick comes in early to cook great breakfasts and made bread and pastry.
The terrace flower garden has never ever been better. Thanks to my daughter Louise the creator and gardener who she says its the cold wet winter that brings the best summer flowers.

1929 Rolls Royce in perfect condition. 20th June 2010

Sunday, 6 June 2010

This is a genuine 1903 Rolls Royce. I wish I had taken the name and number of its proud owner as we are having a Rare Cars, Rare breeds, Rare people party on Saturday August 14th in the afternoon. Details should be on the events page but I am waiting to update that from February. Oh dear!
This is not the ' Monet bridge' but looks quite good now with the yellow iris in the water and carp coming up to the surface on warm days.
Of course we have a duck house! Sadly the ducks have flown away. We are looking for replacements with wings to fly away from the fox and small dogs without leads.
Evening is a lovely time for drinks in the garden at the front of the house and watch the sun go down. We need some more garden chairs.

The tulips are over now and the pots planted with summer flowers. I just loved those tulips!
View from reception down to the old moats. I like to watch new customers getting out of their car and stopping to stare before coming in.
No this is not my mini but you may recognise it. I will publish a picture of my new mini when it arrives next week. It has 6 gears and tells you when to change them. Its on lease hire from Sytner in Nottingham.
If you choose a starter of "Garden salad with poached duck egg" for lunch
this is what you will get.
The kitchen garden is looking good with plenty of young vegetables coming up for the summer
This is a picture of Margaret. She is a regular customer but I only just realised that she is 103 years old. There is another photograph of her with me but as she looks younger than I do I am not going to publish it!
